grim & my pizza snack while waiting for our flight to chicago. Dc womens times was great—thanks nelly!!!!!!
yes, we went to whole foods and ordered an entire pizza for 2 people. sigh. (but! that’s 8 slices for $9.99! such a deal…right?) i was, thankfully, able to carry the leftovers home on the back of the motorcycle…so im calling it a win. and lunch tmrw.
next time we should all go together though, yes?
piece sunday night special.
also, i had to post this pic of doggie. it was so hot out today, when we got back from a walk she laid down like this and wouldn’t move. we’ve all been there, the lupa, we’ve all been there.
guest post from richard!
It’s the Little Italy, but it’s not small and it doesn’t taste any different than the regular Hut. It’s like someone messed up their dough, pans or both. But, it’s still pizza and I still ate it with chicken, mushrooms, and green peppers on one half, and onion, sausage and jalapeños or the other.
this was the best pizza we ate in all of italy. we took a day trip from rome to naples to try out pizza where it was invented (and, um, to see other things too, i swear). sadly, after we trekked through all of naples (a 4 hour rick steves self-guided walking tour, of course) the two most famous pizza places in naples that were to be our reward were closed. it was really, really, fucking sad. LUCKILY, on the way, we had the good sense to stop and get some napoli pizza, shown above. we took it to go and ate in a park. it was pretty damn amazing. bottom line, if you have a chance to go to naples, i wouldn’t talk you out of it, just don’t bother if it is in august.
a compendium of pizza pictures from italy.
(embarrassingly, this was not all the pizza we ate. some were eaten too quickly… sigh.)
great lake. finally. it was amazing. that is all.
(actually, no. grim and nelly and i went there after seeing SALT—DOES NOT LIVE UP TO ITS NAME BTW—and i was SO nervous! idk why… i was scared to eat the best pizza in chicago bc then, WHAT WOULD BE LEFT? im not sure what IS left bc it was really as transcendent and whatever else ppl describe it as. we got salami on top and i still think about how delicious it was. sigh. next time nelly comes back to the city i think a return trip is in order. that is all.)
were at cleos right now ( for nelly’s last night in chicago, booooooo) and grim just added ketchup to her pizza. whaaaat???? thoughts???
lupa was totes jeals.
late night pizza snack (that i actually remembered to take a pic of).
great lake (!!!!!) post coming soon…
one more from grim. i don’t think paul reads this blog (once he decided the pizzas featured were too girly… sigh) but if he DOES: can we plz hang out on your balcony soon????
After our Kaplan practice test, we went to P and K’s place and holy what they have an outdoor SEATING AREA like a hotel but in their complex!!!!So after P screwed around grabbing the wrong plate wear we drank pre-mixed margaritas (DELICIOUS!) and had a bunch of deli food which is not pictured but was GREAT. Then of course we decided that was not enough and ordered a cheese from Lou Malnatis. Shit was real, back in July.THANK GOD THE BAR IS SO FUCKING OVER. ….I hope.
now, grim! now we can eat pizza while watching tv in our apts w/the ac on, and not feel bad that we’re not doing more important things! i call this a WIN.
Sad pizza from TJ’s i inhaled before realizing there was eggplant and not really liking it.Sad b/c this was study pizza and i microwaved it and ate it alone in my apt with the AC on watching Burn Notice.
the bar is over, and life is GOOD, but here are some bartimes guest posts that i didn’t have the energy to deal with last week. first, nelly “fucking raw” yuki, documenting her post-bar times in the south. they apparently have a large selection of mini whiskies… something to consider for sabbatical-vacation-planning!
